Some Facts About Leh -

•It is Second Largest District in the country after Kutch, Gujrath.

•Leh was an important stopover on trade routes along the Indus Valley between Tibet to Kashmir and also between India and China.

•It’s Culture and History closely related to Tibet. And the largest town in region.

•Ladakhis the Highest Altitude Plateau region in India (3413m). •Rivers –

•Shoyk and Nubra in Nubra Division of Leh.

•Indus - Runs from Manas Sarovar to Ladakh region.

LEH TO TURTUK VIA KHARDUNGLA PASS (Approx. Distance: 225 KM.)

After breakfast drive to Turtuk Village via Khardungala pass is the highest motorable road in the world.

Village Turtuk is a last Civil Village at Indo-Pak Border. There is 100% Balti Community (Baltistan). Turtuk is also famous for seven types of Apricot)

DISKIT TO SIACHEN BASE CAMP TO PANAMIK (Approx. Distance: 180 KM.)

• Altitude: 10,442 ft.

After breakfast, visit to tallest buddha statue in the region which is 32 meters in height named ‘Maitreya Buddha’; then proceed towards Siachen Base Camp (Alt. 12,000 ft). Siachen refers to a land with an abundance of roses. Siachen glacier is the second largest glacier in the world that stretches 78 km and highest battlefield. We always wish to see how the Indian soldiers guard this battlefield. There will be a small briefing session on grueling routines and preparedness of the brave soldiers of Indian army. Later visit to Hot Water Spring at Panamik. Panamik village is very close to Siachen glacier & attracts the travelers to visit hot Sulphur springs.
